Adult Corrections

Rapid City Community Work Center

The Rapid City Community Work Center is a minimum-security male facility under the direction of the Mike Durfee State Prison and Warden Brent Fluke.

On a daily basis, inmates work on community service projects such as firefighting or helping thin timber in the Black Hills. Other inmates are on work release status, working in the community for various businesses. Parolees in the Community Transition Program are also housed there.

The state Department of Health provides medical, dental and optometric services for the adult corrections system.   Correctional Health
